Tjahaha! After some great discussion and teamwork, Matthias Clasen came up with a patch to fix the menu population slowdown I ranted about earlier. For the less brave folk (that most certainly includes myself), it means waiting for a new gtk+ to come up and GIMP 2.2’s biggest quirk is gone!
